The purpose of this school event is to expose all students to collaborative art creation. Students of varying artistic ability get together and experiment with various mediums, and different techniques. Students learn to recognize that everyone’s contribution is valid and valuable and to let go of their ego and work together to produce a work of art. They also learn the importance of improvisation that working collaboratively brings, and how collaborative work opens the mind to surprising creative possibilities that they might not have thought of.
